Bleeding Heart


The flower, especially in the form of buds, Lamprocapnos, a flower plant belonging to the poppy family, curiously resembles the conventional heart shape with the droplet below. That is why it was given the name, a bleeding heart. The outer petals are bright fuchsia. As the flower blooms later and the outer petals open, the inner and white parts, often called "Ladies of a Bath" become more visible. This plant is located in Siberia, northern China, Korea and Japan.
